Shelter for Homeless

Shelter for Homeless

Another “God” idea , we are very excited about this upcoming project.

There are so many homeless people in Durbanville and no where for them to go. In the past the people of Durbanville weren’t to keen on having such a shelter in our town, but off late it has really become a need.

Our vision for the shelter is to provide these people with a place to come have a shower, get a meal & some clean clothes. We also envision teaching them skills & creating opportunities for them to earn their own income & give them back their diginity.

This shelter will be unlike other shelters, because here we will give them the opportunity to build up their selfworth, and realise their full potential & God given destiny.

We hope to take hands with the community & the churches in the community to make a real difference in these prescious people’s lives.

Should you want to get involved in anyway please do not hesitate to contact our founder Marinda E Cornelius at mec@netactive.co.za

Our first step in building a relationship with these people is to host a Christmas Party for them on 16/12/09. We are going to put out tables & sun-umbrellas, put some braai-drums out & braai them a nice hotdog or hamburger, cooldrink & treats. We are going to have a nice jolly party for them. Give them each a clothing hamper and minister the Word of God to them. There is hope & His name is JESUS!

Again should you like to become involved with this great outreach please do not hesitate to contact us on mecministries@telkomsa.net  . Without your help this project is going to be so much harder to do!

Come join us for our Annual Christmas Party for the Homeless of Durbanville.

To be held on 16 December 2010, in the Shoprite Parkinglot – entrance via

Queen Street, Durbanville. From 09h00 – we will be serving them a sit down breakfast. Gift each of them with a clean set of clothing, basic toiletry set,and hopefully a pair of shoes.

Donations of these goods very needed & welcome. We are preparing for 200 people this year.
